Wands can be a powerful tool and a companion. In a sense your wand is an extension of you, your desires and intent.
It’s important to take care of your wand as it retains energy and that energy should be yours. The more you handle it the greater the connection since everything is made up of energy.
There are a variety of ways to cleanse and activate it, and is important if you wish to practice magic. Here are some ideas to consider:
- Light some dry sage and pass it through the smoke; as you do say something like:
with the power of fire and air I cleanse you from any unwanted energies. You are mine and mine alone let no purpose or intent other than mine have power here as my desire so mote it be.
You could say the same thing or something like with these methods as well. They all work the trick is to find the way that speaks to you.
- Light some incense, get a bowl of water with a pinch of sea salt, pass it through the smoke, and sprinkle it with the water; and speak your intent.
- Use a clean cloth of your choice made of natural material like cotton, wool or hemp; wipe in one direction and again speak your intent.
As you can see there are a variety of ways to cleanse and activate your wand. It’s important to understand that your intent and faith in what you are doing are the most important things in magical work.
The words I used in my example are just that, an example, always use words that resonate with you. It’s your energy and your intent at work.
It’s your Wand:
Your wand is your tool and your companion. Believe in your ability to create change, believe in the partnership with your companion and let the magic happen.
When doing magic we have the choice to do so for the sake of blessing, practicality or change, the possibilities are endless.
If I am to give one piece of advice in the use of magic I would say remember the energies in which we choose to embrace are those that find their way back to us.
Keep in mind that magic doesn’t always work the way in which our rational minds think it should. Magic is an energy unto it self and often chooses the time, process and course of action most natural in the moment.
