From the beginning, the magic body has been the most important possession we have. Many cultures consider it to be a holy. In some religions it’s actually used as an alter of worship.
Almost every religion has recognized the power residing within it. This is evidenced by the sacrificial shedding of blood on countless alters throughout time. This magical power, also known as Chi, or Prana, is the energy that runs through you. It’s this magic that keeps you alive.
Your body is the most important tool you have in your magical arsenal. It’s not only a generator of positive and negative energy, but can also be used to draw upon and store power from other sources.
The better shape your body is in the more efficiently it will function. I know you’ve heard this before, but even in the realm of magic diet and exercise are important. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not advocating anything extreme.
Most witches have a love of nature and the desire to get out and connect with it. This involves walking and is one of the main exercises you really need. So get out and enjoy Mother Earth. Your body will respond with an increase in your ability to make magic.
Energy is always in motion. The more you use, the more will come to you. Don’t forget, the kind of energy you use is the kind you will get back.
Try slowly pushing your palms together. Do you feel a pressure or lightness just before they touch? This is your Chi. It’s within you and all around you. At certain times of the day your power is stronger than at others.
Do you have a favorite time of day? Your chi may be strong during that time. This is not always true, but is sometimes the case. Test yourself at different times of the day. When you find your pattern you may discover that these times are best when casting spell that don’t require a specific time.
It’s not always convenient to plan your spells around your peak hours. Never fear there are other ways to increase your power. These techniques have been used by many generations of witches. I’m confident you can use them to help you.
A good meal, consisting of six ounces of steak or chicken, steamed vegetables and a slice of whole wheat bread will cause your chi to get stronger. An eight ounce glass of red wine won’t hurt either. Your energy level will increase about two hours after consuming it.
This equires some planning, and with life flying by at a million miles an hour who has time for that. Am I right?
The Star position
Another way to increase your strength is the Star Position. This is easy to assume, and involves standing with legs spread apart, arms out stretched. Tilt your head back a little.
Now close your eyes and imagine the energy running through you. It flows in through your non dominate hand and pours from your dominate one. As this happens some of the power stays behind. You may now use this strength in your spells.
This is one of our favorites, because it’s simple, direct and can be done anywhere you can get a little privacy.
Now let’s move on to one of my favorite subjects.
Meditation keeps your mind healthy. It gives you the opportunity to remove outside clutter and focus on what is important. It promotes communication between mind, body and spirit. This gives you the ability to shape your experiences.
Some people think it’s not for them because it takes too long, and there are too many rules. They think in order to meditate correctly, they must turn off their mind and stop thinking.
Some can do it that way. For the rest of us that may be difficult, but there’s good news.
There is freedom in meditation that will bring balance to your magic body. The trick is to want to do it. All you have to do is find a method that works and commit. I started out with a candle. I focused on it and thought only about the flame. I kept this up until it was comfortable. Now I couldn’t imagine life without it.
- Find a place where you won’t be disturbed
- Spend three to five minutes focusing on a particular goal
- Speak the goal out loud
- Imagine how you would feel achieving it
- See it accomplished in your mind
Short time periods makes it easy to focus and limits distraction.
Guided meditations can be powerful and might include something like health, success or confidence.
This type of meditation is a form of mindfulness, which means being in the present moment and accepting it without judgment.
It can help relieve the pressure of feeling you must empty your mind and make the time spent more beneficial.
- You get the chance to have time to yourself
- You temporarily leave responsibilities behind
- It makes a positive difference in the way you feel
- It improves your confidence and success
It’s important to take time and connect with the present moment. Being aware of how you feel will make you happier and more confident. This, in turn, will bring more value to your life.
Be encouraged to find a style of meditation you enjoy. In a busy world with so much responsibility, you and your magic body deserve the benefits that come with it. Anyone can do it, and It’s the perfect way to focus , gather strength and make a difference in your life.
