As with the body, Earth energy pulses with the positive and negative. It’s heightened by our rotation around the sun and also by the moon’s orbit around us. And it doesn’t stop there.
The earth is a part of an infinitely powerful universe that’s full of wonder we humans have only begun to fathom. The important part to remember, however, is that not only are we a part of it but it is also a part of us.
Energy runs in currents not only in the depths of space but also down to the smallest molecules of everything that exists. These currents of positive and negative earth energy can be tapped into and used to bring about a witches will.
For this reason many witches live close to the earth. We study and build a relationship with her, and by her I mean all of nature, (even the cosmos).
Gaia is our earth mother. She is the feminine divine. She’s not only physically beneath our feet, but is also the spirit of earth all around us. She is the matrix of creation, the healing earth energy, the keeper of magic and emotion.
Her greatness lies not only in the divine, but also in the mundane, in fire and water, in earth and air. She’s the spirit who beckons us to follow her example, to connect our physical bodies to our own divine nature as well as that of the cosmos.
Here’s a truth you should know, and yes, I’ve said this before. The Fastest way to get to know anyone or anything is to get into physical contact with them. This applies to things, animals and people. Our Goddess is no different.
Take off your shoes and walk in the grass. You might choose to walk on the beach or barefoot down a dirt road. Swimming in a lake or in the ocean also works. The important thing is that you get in contact with her.
Now here’s the part that will get some of you. You must (or at least should) talk to her. Tell her anything you want. You can even ask her questions. Sarah and I do this all the time and find that our answer usually comes soon.
I believe constant communication with her is a must for any witch, (Or any person for that matter.) I’ve found the closer I am physically and emotionally to her, the more intuitive I am, and during periods when I’m not my magic suffers.
As I’ve already said, the energy that runs through the universe is both positive and negative. It’s light and dark, male and female. It’s good and evil, heaven and hell. No matter how you slice it everything comes down to this in our universe.
Yin and yang aren’t the only fluctuation. There are five types of energy, (all of which can be both positive and negative). These are called elements. They are physical expressions or manifestations of energy. They are earth, air, fire, water and spirit.
In this series we’ll discuss these in detail. We’ll also talk about stones, crystals, herbs, plants, and much more.
